Explore a world where visual art and critical reflection come together. Tania Martinez, a Dublin-based visual artist and writer, invites you to engage with her work—where form, emotion, and thought intertwine to create meaningful artistic narratives.
My journey as an artist
My work as an artist and educator, influenced by my experience as a migrant, explores the tension between the foreign body and the gaze of the "other." Through the study of Body Horror, I address themes of identity and transformation, creating ambiguous figures that challenge human perceptions. My work aims to provoke an unsettling feeling, as if something strange or out of the ordinary is happening, inviting reflection on how bodies transform and are perceived.
